Google search hits indicate this issue is caused by hijacking/hacking
software.
1. I reset the home page by editing the register - that works when I open
Iexplorer - However

My homepage is a local-file (ie. homepage.html) with some Javascript in it.
Everytime I load IE, the "Information Bar" drops down and warns me of the
dangers of "script and ActiveX" controls.
I can't seem to set the security settings to allow my homepage.  I can't add

Why do the icons shown next to my favorites keep reverting to the Windows
general webpage icon? Is there anything I can do to stop this issue, aside
from manually re-assigning my favorites?

Bit hard to describe this, but here we go.
At the moment, I have two addresses displayed: the full http one and the
page (?) title (IE Newsgroups Home). Both are preceded by a Microsoft icon, a
blue square with a white M.

Hi - I'm new to newsgroups so forgive any wrong postings please!
I run Windows XP professional SP2 and IE7 on a Dell Dimension 9150 at home
and have auto updates on, run SpyBot and AVG anti virus and ZoneAlarms (free)
on a broadband phone connection

I have Win XP SP2, I had IE6 and updated to IE7, but in the company that is
not an application autorized. I uninstalled IE7 and reinstalled IE6 and its
uptades, now i have runtime error with IE6.
What it's the problem here? What can I do to run IE6 with no problems?

My ISP (AT&T YAHOO) has decided to fill my mailbox page with dancing ads that
are very annoying and distracting. Is there any way I can block them using
IE7? Some newsgroups sy you can get a "plug-in" for some browsers. Is there
one for IE?

Using windows 2000 professionaL and outlook express 6.  It takes about two
minytes to load and then works fine.  I've read various things about how to
resolve this but nothing seems to work - or the explanations are too brief to

I have began to notice that now and again during browsing these is a very
brief flash of the cmd prompt screen - almost too quick to notice.  I
