When I open up IE 5.5, a box pops up informing me that "an error has occured
in the script on this page".  Line - 2,    Char. - 1174,    Error:  - object
doesn't support this property or method,   code: - o, and the URL script  
(too long to print).

           My Dell computer is having internal problems.  It appears that
the "Made in China" Dell comes factory equipped with a browser that has an
automatic bug catcher, meaning Viruses, Worms, and any high Alert Spyware.

I keep going to a site that tells me that to view I have to enable javascript.
but if I go to tool,internet options,security,internet,custom level,active
scripting it is checked enable.
what can I do?

I have a page (index.htm) that runs some javascript which sets 2 cookies. If
I put the webpage on my server (IIS 6 on W2003) the cookies get set. But if I
access it on my workstation (IIS 5 on XP Prof), no cookies are set.

A friend has developed this problem of late: when going to Google or Yahoo
site he gets the following message......
'Unable to download from Google (or Yahoo) site
Server does not appear to be extended with the Microsoft Office Extensions'
