I deleted *.wa* from the computer (xp)
unzipped a file with a .wab address book to the desktop.
double clicked the .wab file to open the address book and it looks fine.
I clicked Start, Programs, Accessories, Address Book with an empty address

How does one restore original file associations in OE6.  I have a lot of
folders in OE that have a lot of information in them would I lose the
information?  Example:  Some one will send a movie clip and when I hit
attachment it goes to Word and then there is miles of letters and ...

When I receive new mail ... the 'new mail' indicator in the lower right hand
side of OE's status bar (the little envelope), does NOT revert back to "no
new messages" even after I have read whatever mail I have received, until I
re-attempt to check for new messages.

Most of my e-mails are being sent to me with weird characters in the subject
