My friends inbox messages have disappeared how do we restore them?

i use outlook 2002 SP3 and if i try to click an email link on a web page, my
computer stalls and then opens up 59 pages that go no where.  i get an error
message that tells me that my email is not set up to use this service or
something to that effect.  HELP!

Every time I start Outlook Express it wipes out all entire mail
as if it was the first time I use it.
The existing mail accounts are not deleted though.
What can be happening?

a I tried to create a 'personal signature' (not a digital signature) for
Outlook Express.  I used Word to put it together, including a couple of

When i recieve a wmv file attached to an e-mail and open it I can hear the
sound but no picture.  If I right click on the attachment and save it to the
harddisk everthing is fine.  Outlook express is some how keeping the video
from appearing.  Thank for your help.

My friend had over 1500 messages in his inbox.  He had a problem with OE and
had to establish a new identity.  He lost all his previous inbox messages.
I went over to his house and found a inbox.dbx file in his Recycle Bin.  It
was just over 2GB in size.

Sometimes I send out a meeting announcement to a large group of people
without needing to know exactly who is going to accept or decline, but since
it's a large group, I don't want to get a flurry of emails from the
respondees.

described.I used to be able to download my hotmail to OE,and I thought maybe
I hadn't put all the right check marks in the right places

I want to export my messages for back up purposes.

When you have an email message opened in OE, or any message in which it is
very long and you have to scroll up and down to read the text, is there a
way to operate the scroll bar without using the mouse?

Running OE 6 in Windows 2000 Pro.
The stored message files keep getting bigger and bigger.  The deleted
messages section in OE is empty yet there is a huge deleted .DBX file for
example.  There are subjects that I deleted long ago that are still there.
