OE deleted my attachments16 May 2006 11:21 GMT2
I was wondering how to change my e-mail so that it accepts all attachments.
For some reason, OE is deleting them before I get a chance to even see what
they are!

   OE6,sp2 is restricting access to certain attachments, mostly .WMV type
files I receive from one individual. I know that the attachments are not
spam. I don't know if it's a 'rule' I must create or an OE setting that I
must change. How can I change OE6 to allow these files, ...

   When replying to another user's response to my problem in a newsgroup
such as this one, ALL my replies bounce back or are 'failed to deliver'. Is
it an email setting on my end or are replies to other responders normally
rejected?

A friend occasionally sends pictures and also occasionally they arrive in text format.
Another issue that might not be related,... when there might be several pictures and they are to be displayed in the message, there appears only the box with the red X but upon scrolling down ...

An email containing sound and animations was forwarded (he has Outlook

Now he has found out that the recipient received no sound or animation -

I am running Outlook Express 6 and Windows 98.  After receiving my e-mail
the system dis-connects.  I then go to tools, options, connections and
un-check the box that reads "Hang up after sending and receiving".  Okay,
back to normal.  But a couple days later that box gets checked ...

Request #1.  For links inside emails, have a right click menu item that
allows you to open the link in another tab and/or window.

I have tried to make OE the default Mail handler on 2 users' computers but I
can't get it to stick.
I tried through the OE Tools/Options and through IE tools, Internet Options
Programs with no luck.

I had to rename my Inbox.dbx file to be able to start Outlook Express.
Before that I get the error message msimn.exe could not start. OE will make
a new Inbox.dbx-file while starting but when I want to download my email
this did not succeed and I get the next message:

emails from designated mail groups automatically route to a folder.  I set up
a rule for this, but the emails only filter over to the designated folder

Hi...
Sometimes I get an email with pictures embedded in the text... usually they
show up but I can never forward that email to someone else... the pictures
always end up with a box-outline with a big red-X in the top-left.
