I have an IMAP account which I regularly access from my PDA, either thru my PC or cell
phone when travelling. It showed the usual folders ( inbox, Sent Items and so on ).
I recently traveled to Sweden and downloaded my mail from a friend's PC after setting an
Outlook Express account ...

I lost all my inbox items after my computer froze and I restarted it. this
computer is running on win xp.  all the sent items and all other folders are
still there.
I NEED HELP PLEASE.  how can I recover my inbox?  where should I look for

While working in OE6 a warning sign popped up indicating:
"Outlook Express encountered a problem and needs to close".
There were two clickable buttons on the warning sign: "debug" and "close".
I chose to click "debug".

I need to have a copy of my e-mails, address book and calendar on my
portable computer, but I cannot find the folder where OE stores the e-mails.
I have no network, just stand-alone computers, so I believe synchronization
between the computers is not an option now.

is it possible to block the access to outlook express with a password so as
not to enable unwanted others to open the program and read my mail?
i am using windows xp pro.

I have just installed IE 7.
The one problem that I have had is that if I now receive an email in OE with
a link and I point and click at the link, the link no longer opens in a new
window.

Starting a couple of days ago, clicking on received links no longer takes me
to the linked page.
I have to forward that email to my gmail account in order to activate the
link from there.

I seem to have several programs that automatically load as Windows 98 is
srtaing up, despite the fact they not listed under the Startup menu, when
you click, Start, Programs, Startup.
Is there any way I can prevent this happening? I still want the programs, I

   How do I set up OE to flag a post to alert me when it's been responded
to?

You suggested disabling my email scanner.  When I formatted and reinstalled
XP I did not put any virus protection or email scanning programs back on.
This is a bare bones install to be sure nothing extra was causing the
problem.  I even changed ISP and it still will not send an ...

I am set up to view most attachments as a continuation of the text of the
email message.   On most picture attachments I don't have to click on the
paperclip symbol to see them.    Somewhere is OE I found the way to do that
but I can no longer find that selection to help a friend ...

i have my yahoo a/c configured with OE. it gives me the following errors:

My friend has a problem with old emails. Something happened and all the
emails in a few different folders have disappeared. There were 10 nested
folders
created in the  Inbox folder. I used a DBX program to open those dbx files

I have been sending mail to people and they have been recieving it.
But i get an error when it does the send and recieve but there is no detail
in the error.
All my email are in the outbox. Nothing in the sent box. Every time i send
