I had been using Outlook Express6 (WinXP, updated fully), and it handled all
mail stuff.

this has probably been covered, but i couldn't find it... can i save e-mails
to a floppy disk, thereby saving space on my hard drive (i've only got 10 GB
in total... working towards a bigger drive)?  i can compact folders, but i
haven't figured out how to get them onto a floppy ...

A while back, Outlook Express "offered" to compact my messages for me. Once I
let this happen, when I search through my deleted message folder I have been
unable to open messages from the "Find" window. Now, after several months
have gone by, every time I close OUtlook Express it ...

Can someone tell me how to do backups/compresses on Email?  My Outlook takes
up to five minutes to open attachments and slow down the whole system.  Also
has trouble sending Email because it takes so long it times out.

I just received email from a friend asking for help.  I don't use OE, so I'm
hoping someone on this group can help.  For a little background:  He was
having a great deal of problems with his computer and apparently had a
virus, among other things.  He took it to a computer shop ...

It appears that even though my outgoing emails are being sent, they remain in
my outbox. Does anybody know how to stop this from happening?

Win XP Pro  SP2, latest updates.  Toshiba Laptop,  Norton NIS installed.

user is missing 6 user folders.   no user backup of   OE.
  searched hard drive for *.dbx files-   none found with name of missing

OE6 stopped opening the Inbox folder. Inbox is still under Local Folders. If
I click on Inbox, nothing happens -- just a blank window where the list of
files should be. Sent Items display fine. Deleted Items has the same problem

I recently upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows XP.  The next time I started
Outlook Express 6.0 all of the emails I had stored in my "Inbox" were gone.  
How can I get them bacK?

i have a problem with e- mail i don't think i need too tell you about this
problems .but you can tell us when you at microsoft .willbe repairing it i
can not use my outexpress and a prombel within  my play.i have wait for the

I upgraded to Internet Explorer 7 and I lost the ability to access OE through
IE7. There is no tab or anything for email. How can I use OE while in IE7
without having to go to my OE program and opening it separately?

hi, if i just want to recieve emails from 2 or 3 specific people how do i go
about it?

I have several alt email accounts set up in OE, however, when I respond to
someone from the alt, it wont go thru...message reads:
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's
e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'XXXXXXX@verizon.net'.

Is there a way to tell when OE is opened from within an application what
