when I open outlook express my pc hangs up and then to revive it I have to
press ctrl alt and delete, minimise task manager, all is well for a while.
then it happens again at random.
any ideas

My computer has two users - one administrator and one user.
Both use Outlook Express 6.
I should import addresses from  an Excel file to the address book of the
"user", but importing/exporting is not allowed for "user".

Is there a way to always have the newsgroup view set to "Show Replies to my
Messages"?  It seems whenever I click off the newsgroup and then back on it
again, that filtered view may not be there again and I have to re-go through

For some reason I am unable to view any windows media player attachments on
my e-mails, the paper clip is there in the subject header but when I open it
there is no attachment just lines and lines of text
I can play movies and tv shows using media player

           I'm looking for some info please.
Just yesterday, while in my email account, I forwarded an attatchment on an
email. When I clicked on the attatchment, Windows Live Mail took over from
Outlook Express. It offered me an email account, told me that outlook express

Maybe this is the norm for OE, but I have loked around for a way to get OE
to present the HTML view as a default.  Possible?

I found on another thread that I am viewing in HTML fine, but the emails I
get from Casinos and such show up as nothing, but when I read them in my
webmail I can read them fine.

I'm trying to migrate my documents and settings from a Win2K machine to an
XP Pro machine and seem to have gotten OE6 messed up.
Here's what I've done so far. I started out using Outlook Express Quick
Backup to create a backup on the Win2K machine and then reload it on the XP

1. when I open outlook express,it opens and downloads e-mail without a
password........................how can I change this so it only opens and

My wife got me into the (bad) habit of using 'Shift-delete' to delete
unwanted messages.  So I have gotten into the bad habit of deleting and
answering 'yes' to the question 'Do I really want to delete it?'  The other
day I accidentally 'shift-deleted' an entire sub-folder of ...

Recently I was unable to receive emails  due to server error. It has now
spread to my other computer. I am able to send no problem. Also when i
checked my inbox that had hundreds of emails that were unopened  I saw that
they had all been wipped out.  Where did my mail go? Thanks

Okay, so I am bad about my inbox and today I was working on deleting old
e-mails and sorting important ones to files of my own making (long overdue).  
In the process OE seemed to "freeze" and wouldn't let me delete or transfer
emails so I shut down the computer and restarted it.

What is done when a newsgroup is compacted?
