I have a couple of questions about using outlook express to read
newsgroups.
I'm new to using it.  I always used Google Groups before but the group
I frequent is overwhelmed with sporge so I needed some way to filter.

Every so often, Outlook Express goes off line.  I sometimes have to restart
my computer.  This started happening when I downloaded Windows Live
Messenger.  The Windows Messenger Icon used to be on the taskbar.  Now there
is no icon.  Is there a way to tie Outlook with Windows Live ...

When I received a link via email, I used to be able to doubleclick the link
and go right to it.  I can no longer do this.  I have to save the shortcut
and paste it into my browser address window.
This, also, is new.  When I reply to a message, the original message is gone

I can see the messages when I log onto my hotmail account online, but Outlook
no longer downloads them.
The server status says connected, the system log says that I sucessfully
connected, but no messages will download.  I can send messages with no

Running OE 6 on a Dell, cannot open a PowerPoint file. I have ppsviewer from
MS, and can open pps files if I save them to desktop, but I cannot open them
from the attachment bar in OE. Same with wmv files.
What setting is screwed up?

what does that refer to, please? NGs only? I'm wondering b/c the size was
2.48 MB and 0 Wasted Space; my emails in the store folder for OE6 --dbx.

deleted it...

i have verizon national access. is this my isp?  if so, i get this error
message when i try to send email.

A friend called and said suddenly he can't change the font size when
composing emails.  He is using OE 7.  It was working fine, then suddenly it
will let him choose the font he wants, but when he tries to change the font
size to something different, the moment he tries to type ...

Since a few weeks, I often receive mails which are impossible to delete.
Mostly from unknown senders. What kind of mails are these. Is there a trick
to remove them?

I have recently had a major PC problem.  There is a way to change the
incoming mail alert sound to one of my choosing but for the life of me I
can't remember how to do it. Any help or advice will be most welcome.

I think I done something wrong with OEBakcup.
I get "Unable to open Address book, the Address book may not be
installed correctly."
Yet I can see them all in "Contacts" in folder view.

California has changed to DST but at a different date.  I haged my clock
manually but the time revceived on emails in now an hour off.  A newer
computer shows the correct time.  I do I correct?  Thank you
