I have received an email saying that microsoft is going to stop the support
of using outlook express to download their  hotmail mails.
I am using win2k.   I think windows Live mail does not support win2k...

I updated Messenger and now have Windows Live Mail.
Is this the replacement to Outlook Express..

Running XP SP2, and OE version 6.00.2900.2180.
Every time I try to print, the application closes without any error. The
Event Viewer shows this:
Faulting application msimn.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module

Tried to send a 3.5MB file to a binary group but it just sat there seeming
to start transferring yet nothing happening.  I have OE set to break apart
messages larger than 900KB.
I have Newsbin to download binaries but don't know how to use it to upload,

Hello, anyone knows how to report, or block or something the watch and
jewelry vendors appearing in droves to my newsgroup emails???  Deletingn

Although my own account is marked as "default," OE 6 does not use it as the
default "From" address on my replies and forwards.
Whenever I add a new account, THAT account becomes the one OE6 chooses to
use as a "From" -- even though that account is not marked as default.

I seem to remember that there is a way to automatically insert a signature
graphic into each outgoing message, but I can't remember how to do it. When
I open Tools>Options>Signatures and choose a graphic file, then open a new

Recently, Adelphia bit the dust and all emails via them were stopped.  My old
address with Adelphia has been gone for months, but now OE is sending me

How do you check how much space on the hard drive OE is taking up? When I
check properties of the program files it just gives me the program amount,
something like 4.5 MB.

I use Outlook Express on my XP machine exclusively for reading newsgroups. I
like the interface and understand how it operates. Unfortunately, it really
lacks a lot of choices when it comes to filtering newsgroups.

I had to replace my computer and I have attached the drive from the old
computer as an external drive to the new computer.  How do I indentify and
import the old address book, folders and existing mail from the old drive?

When I send a pdf as an attachment, the received file is incomplete. Two or
three  lines may be received correctly but the rest of the page is blank.
The received file is about the same size as the source pdf.
I have checked several pdf writers and readers with the same results, ...

when i recieve email with pictures in hotmail i can see them
i then forward them to my outlook express account the pictures are replaced
with ? and i only recieve text
