Something curious has been happening recently in Outlook Express. When I send mail, I am used to see the popup window and the display of a send progress bar. I could watch the bar move progressively from left to right and just how far along I was in the send.

I use Outlook Express to read from microsoft managed newsgroups and i think it works just fine except from one thing. The messages drop out from the list after some time (3 month i think). This means that my watched posts disappear and when that happens, i loose track of the posts ...

I was looking at the DBX files in my default OE store folder (since I use Win 98 SE, it's within the c:\windows\application data folder) and I noticed that the Outbox.dbx folder had 51 MB of data. Does OE save messages from the Outbox to the hard drive? If so, what purposed does ...

This is new to me: A friend's OE 6 gives a "High Water Mark" message: "A message was sent to you that was returned to the sender(bounced) because it would have caused your mailbox quota to be exceeded." Is this message generated by the ISP, or OE, or something else? Searching

I've got a number of pictures in .jpeg format that I haven't yet saved to disk or burned onto a cd. What is the best way to back up OE? Can I just burn the OE folder inside Application Data to cd and import the .dbx files later or do I need a program to do this for me?

I have a problem in that when I click on a link from the email sent to me it will not open from there. I have had a look in the XP firewall settings, but am a loss as to why it won't open.
