Hey guys,
I've just stumbled across this forum after several
agonizing months of "nowhere to turn" when Connectix
relinquished control of VPC 5.x, and I have a question

I downloaded Virtual PC 2004 today from MSDN, and am
having lots of trouble making it recognise iso images of
win98 from msdn, and phsyical cd-rom disks for windows 95
and windows 98, and floppy disks for msdos.

Is it possible to convert Machine Images from VPC 5.2 (.VHD) to the new VPC
2004 (.VMC) files?
I've tried to rename the extensions, but no luck. VPV 04 can compact the old
image files ok (so it says), but it can't open them.  Do I need to make all

Is there ever going to be a way to write a virtual driver for devices that
you want to show up in VPC smilar to the vHDD, vCD, vCOM, and vNET devices?

When starting up Virtual PC 2004, I automatically get an application error
and the app bombs out.
Can anybody help out with some ideas on how to fix this, or what could be

version of VPC 2004, mostly were from MSDN or PDC 2003
DVDs.  Will the released verion of VPC 2004 (which will

Is there any way to share the clipboard between a virtual machine and the
host (or between two virtual machines)?  I've been using VMWare and I can't
figure out how to enable this in VPC2004.
