Can SoftICE be used effectively on VPC for 9X/ME and NT guests?
Can WinDbg be used for W2K and higher guests?
I am a driver developer and am looking for ways to provide some level of
support for the older OS's (as real hardware begins to wear out).

When i try and load the virtual pc i get an error stating
that : One or more of the files from the Virutal PC
installation are missing, please reinstall virutal pc and
try again. I tried Virutal PC 5.2 and 2004.

I was extremely dissapointed with VPC2004 in comparisom
with vpc 5.2
I'm running a 3.2Ghz/800FSB system, 2Gb DDR 400 on Raid 0
disk subsystem with XP sp1 as the host O/S. The VPC

Can an image be created of a current running system and be used on
virtualpc.

- Serial port mouse doesn't work on Virtual PC 2004
guests.
- It has serious problems with the old VPC Additions
installed on existing VHD files.

Updated new trial version that will expire on January 2,
2004 is not 2004 but still 5.2. Why? I want to try 2004
version.

When I try to download VPC 2004 from the MSDN donwload
server, I get an error message like "File not found on

Does anyone know the licensing for applications running
within the Virtual PC. For example if you have a licence
for Office running on the Host PC do you need a license
for office running under the virtual PC as well?

the emulated sound card is using IRQ 5 that shares with
the Plug and play IRQ!!! The result is that DOS sound
card driver cannot be installed!!!!!

Having used Virtual PC 5.1 and 5.2 24/7 with multiple Operating systems I
have noticed that often times it loses the ability to use keyboard and mouse
sometimes. After browsing the forums I have found that it is a known problem
and even still persists in rare occasions in VPC 2004 ...

I have a Dell 2350 computer with an intergrated Broadcom
440x Nic. Having a problem with the Virtual Machine
Network Services, with it enabled I lose the use of the
network (Lost TCP/IP Setttings).

laptops to some of our traveling sales team to solve a
problem with legacy software.
These users are NOT very computer literate.
