MIDI keyboard / soundcard support?15 Jan 2004 21:36 GMT1
Ever since upgrading a originally MIDI keyboard dedicated
system to XP home, I have had a serious problem.  One of
the pieces of software the system was used for was the now
defunct Jump! Music's Piano Discovery Kit.  Jump! Music

last Connectix version had?  VPC2k4 only has the option to
limit access to admins only but in my enviroment all are
admins of their own machines.  Is there a workaround or

Restore previous state15 Jan 2004 18:39 GMT1
VMWare has the capability of restoreing a machine to a
previously save state.  Does Virtual PC have a similiar
capability, and if so how do you do it.
drivers -- need for host (XP) or the guest (Win9X)?15 Jan 2004 17:31 GMT1
We have an old, specialized program meant to collect data
and then manipulate & display it. It is Win9X specific,
and apparently will NOT run under WinXP, even in
the "compatibility mode". We are under pressure to move

Virtual PC accessing the host PC shares15 Jan 2004 16:09 GMT2
I don't know if this is a VPC problem or XP one.

VPC up in a workgroup rather than joing my company domain.
Red Hat Installation: Initialize "hda", is this safe?15 Jan 2004 15:31 GMT3
I mean... is it going to look for the VHD and try to format and partition
that, or is it going to go for my *actual* "hda" which would be my system
drive.
Sorry if this is an uneducated/out of place question.

with more than 300MB of RAM on a host with 512MB and only
78MB in use at Virtual PC startup?  Is Microsoft secretly

Another Network Problem - Shared networking (NAT)15 Jan 2004 06:37 GMT2
I was using the direct network adapter until I got tired of manually
renewing DHCP when connecting between home and office.
I then read the Help and realized that Shared networking (NAT) should be the
best option for me.  I did that.  Help explained nicely about a virtual DHCP
Windows 98 Question - not 2nd Edition15 Jan 2004 03:18 GMT2
My client is running VPC to test an application under 98, ME, 2000 and XP.
App uses the Windows Installer and works fine on 2000 & XP (not got round to
ME yet) but I have run into a problem with W98. The app installs fine (then
needs a reboot). After the reboot W98 launches fine but ...
VPC2k4 Security Change15 Jan 2004 02:03 GMT2
I'm wondering (after searching for the answer), why
Microsoft decided to do away with the password security
to keep people from changing VPC settings?
While being able to limit changes to administrators is
