I'm encountering a problem when installing Virtual PC
2004 (build 582) on my XP Pro SP1 desktop.  It appears to
go through the majority of the install before I get this
error:

The main reason for me to use VPC is because I do .NET development, however,
with one twist: 2003 and Whidbey are almost equally important to me (and run
in separate differenced clients). So when I want to do Compact Framework

I am running some automated tests using Virtual PC.  At the end of the
tests I execute a shutdown so that the OS in the virtual PC shuts
down.
Unfortunately, when the Virtual OS shuts down I end up with a message,

I have VPC 2004 on a Dell Latitude D600 Notebook with XP
Pro.  Only one Virtual Machine with DOS 6.22 and a circuit
board layout CAD program, PCAD MD v8.5 loaded.
Performance seems to be good when starting the program, but

I can't get the abovementioned combination to connect to
my Exchange server. The VPC can access file shares,
internet sites fine (bridged mode, got DHCP address from

Has anyone successfully used VPC with dual monitors. Before upgrading my
graphics card and buying another monitor I want to know whether you can have

Although the Microsoft site doesn't say this, I think the
most important use of VPC will be to run Linux inside the
PC. This can be done without having to create new "real"
partitions; everything runs in a virtual machine. This

I installed Virtual PC 2004 on my Win XP machine(running
> with latest patches/service packs) and installed Win2K
server and Win2003 Server inside VPC.  I am using all
static IP with a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask.  THe machine
