when win2000 boots up, before i press right ctrl-delete it
come up with the following error:
"the logon user interface DLL msgina.dll failed to load
contact your system administrator to replace the DLL, or

I am evaluating virtual PC 2004.  Host is XP professional
and I installed RedHat 9 as a guest OS. Everything seems
to work fine if Linux is in text mode (run level), but if
I start the x server, I can't read the display.  I see in

I have tried installing Windows 98 and OS/2 Warp 4 (from
original OS/2 CD not fixpack 15).  In both cases, I get a
message that drive C is not available.  Do I have to
format the virtual hard disk before I proceed?

I am running VPC RTM (Build 582) on Windows XP. Sometimes
when a windows in the VPC guest (Windows 2000 Server) the
window does not restore. You have to right click and then
click teh restore option which is annoying.

The installation went just fine but when I try to run the VirtualPC app it
doesn't open. I did have a few problems installing on other computers but
after uninstalling it I get this error:
Fatal Error - Installer must exit

Does anyone know how i could reliably detect (checking hardware of
guest OS is not safe at all) that i'm in a Virtual PC guest OS. I need

I have MSDN on DVD, and want to install Win98SE into
VirtualPC 2004.
Win98SE is present in a DVD subdirectory with a
setup.exe, but when I allow Virtual PC to capture the DVD

after upgrading 5.2 to 5.3, the new vpc doesn't recognize
old vhd, how am i supposed to open old vhds in 5.3?

I want to reduce the size of my virtual hard disks by
deleting some data on them.  The help mention that you
need to use a disk utility to get rid of "zeroed files"
before compacting the disk.  Does anyone know anything I
