I'm trying to install MS Virtual PC 2004 (Never installed
an older version) on windows XP and almost right away
after clicking on setup.exe I get the following
error: "Error 1324.The Path My Documents contains an
VPC 2004 Freezes05 Feb 2004 17:41 GMT1
Anyone have an issue with VPC freezing up after the install when trying to
create a drive for a VM.  I have installed VPC 2004 on Windows XP SP1 and
when I try to create a VM it freezes up on me.  This is an Intel system.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have created a virtual machine, and am trying to
install win98 se on a Windows XP host computer.  I can
get the setup disk to start, and se the cd-rom, but I am
getting messages about not seeing the drive, and needing

I have RH9 Redhat 9 running under my copy of virtual PC
on an XP professional machine. I have noticed that I

Having lately upgraded my machine from ME to a faster XP
system VirtualPC seemed an excellent way to continue
playing those old games which no longer work under XP and
also run all games generally away from the main XP

In a DOS/Win3.x virtual machine, does it make sense to
load a disk cache utility like SMARTDRV, or am I better
off saving the virtual machine's conventional/upper memory
since the host OS caches anyway?

Has anyone been able to install this using VPC ? I have
the AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and when I try and install
WindowsXP 64-bit, VPC tells me I dont have a 64 bit CPU.

I like to change my default folder with the environment variable.
I try to fill in the information but it is not working
I hope somebody can give a example for the Name and the Value

Is there something special I have to do to have the VM
see the CD drive to boot from? I do have two drives on
the machine (atapi-dvdram and a usb-cdrw). Please help.

Its a classic case of acquiring a well functioning product
and distorting it. We were supporting legacy applications
which connect to NT 3.51 server over IPX and Netware.
Everything worked fine until Connectix had the reigns for
