Virtual Machine Additions installed yet can't use shared folders19 Apr 2004 13:55 GMT8
I am unable to install Virtual Machine Additions, I
think.  My goal is to use "shared folders", and when I
click on that setting, I get the message "Shared folders
are available only after Virtual Machine Additions is

Has anyone tried this? I have been playing with this for a
bit and cant get the virtual pc (Win 98) to talk with
anything else on the physical network.
Have removed TCPIP and added in NETBIOS to ensure

Just wondering if it is possible to map a physical cd (or dvd)
rewriter to the VPC cd drive, and burn cds from a VPC ?

I'm able to see my VPC via Network Neighborhood, but when
I try to access the VPC's C: drive which is shared, an
error message displays saying, "The network path was not
found."

I'm running ZoneAlarm on my host PC.  Do I also have to
install ZoneAlarm on the VPC?

I have been able to startup from a Boot CD Ghost in a Vp
session, the backup is being restored no problem, but
upon the reboot I always get a BLACK screen after
rebooting in Windows, no matter what I try, I have tried
MS-Dos 6.22 & Himem18 Apr 2004 18:40 GMT1
I Have install a virtual DOS machine but the system lock
on device=himem.sys
Any solution ?

I am trying to get virtual pc 2004 to work locally on my
laptop. I have a wireless LAN and the virtual machine can
talk to other pcs on the lan put not the pc it is hosted

Here is the setup: Dual boot Win2k/XpPro. Installed VCP on

boot in safe mode it hangs on MUP.SYS. Doing some further
