I'm trying to install Linux on Virtual PC 2004.
I've tried various distros and none will install.
Suse and Mandrake work fine until I see "VFS:  mounted root
(ext2/minix filesystem)."  Then it just stops.

Does anyone know if there is any way to upgrade the
emulated hardware? or if MS is planning to release
updates to it at all?  I am running software tests using
VPC and some software(CAD/CAM) does not like the 8mb S3

I am running VPC images of a number of OSs:
Server 2003, Longhorn and RC1 XP SP2 /w Lonestar on top of XP Tablet
Edition.
All but XP SP2 run fine. XP SP2 runs terribly slow. My host computer (Acer

I copied an XP VPC machine and ran Windows mini Setup on
the second image. Gave the machine a new name but the MAC
address stayed the same which means that both machines
always appear to be the same on my domain..

I have a dual boot system Win2k/XP Pro. I have loaded VPC
on Win2k but everytime I try to load XP Pro via VPC it
locks up on mup.sys. The Win2k box is logged onto the
network via Novell (which is also loaded on XP Pro). Any

I have a network card installed as well as an ISDN device
in the host machine. Within VP I can only address the
network card but not the ISDN device. I cannot find in the
help files that installing an ISDN driver is not possible.
