I have read that Virtual PC does NOT utilize more than
one CPU.  However, can Virtual PC utilize hyper-threading
resources on a Pentium 4 CPU??

we are evaluating both for purchasing decision. We will use them on Windows host and install windows server(probabaly linux as well) as guest to test AD and networking services, etc.

I've run several times into a weird problem w/ VPC 2004: Explorer (w2k
guest) shows that it has 499 MB of free disk space on drive C:\ but still
any software installation fails due to lack of disk space. What's that? A
feature or a bug? The remaining space really is megabytes not ...

This is my first time using Virtual PC and I wanted to try something
simple, install MS-DOS 6.22 on a virtual pc.
I setup a VPC using the wizard and tried to install DOS on it. The
installation starts and at some point, long before it's finished, the PC

I burned CD of White Box Linux, it boots from BIOS
(at machine boot time) but VPC start ends with
Reboot and Select proper Boot Device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device

Is there any way to successfully compact a virtual harddisk?
I have a dynamic vhd that keeps on growing, even when I delete stuff from
it.
I also tried to use a 'nullify free space' tool (WipeDisk) in an attempt to

Everytime I open and use my Virtual PC and it starts to run a process, and
then I click back to my "host pc" to read an email, my host assumes most of
the CPU resources, which in turns causes my Virtual PC to S-L-O-W way down.
Is there a way that I can assign more CPU speed to ...

I've installed Virtual PC on xpsp2 and on my Virtual machine runs windows
2003 web edition. I do the following:
1) I switch to win2003
2) I start internet explorer(or some other application)
