Anyone knows if there's a way to load a VM from a ghost image?

I follow the defrag then run eraser with zero-bit process (and have been
since the Connectix days) but recently ran into a problem.  Here is my setup:
Host 1 has a WinXPpro guest with vhd at 15+G
Host 2 has a Win2Kpro guest with vhd at 15+G

I'm running Virtual PC 2004 on a Windows XP SP2 machine.  I'm trying to setup
a new VM with the Windows XP source disk (sp-0).  I've entered a few CD keys
(corporate license) that I know work for setting up a normal box, but when
using these same keys to setup the virtual machine ...

I have a box with 2k server and MS ISA 2004(1st nic fixed IP address).  2
Nics total .  I loaded w2k3 server DC as virtual pc. with fixed IP address
same subnet as other.  Computer is not connected to anything external and I
can't get comm between 2 PC's. Anyone have any ideas?  ...

I can access the Internet through my host but not through
the Guest (VM PC).
My host is an XP Pro with it's NIC being: 3Com 3C920
