How can I define a physically not available adapter for the virtual machine,
that is mapped onto the real one, like it works under VMWare? E.g. (and that
is really preferred) AMD PCNet32 to a Rhino Ethernet whatever, that is
supported under WindowsXP.

My test machine's host has a NIC with static IP. I have
one VPC that it's network setting has been set to "local"
(that is loopback). I have assigned static IP to the VPC
too. I try Pinging the Host from the VPC I get not

work for a government org and our IT dept will NOT allow NNTP connections so

I set up a virtual PC to work with Visual Studio 2005 in order to keep it
separate from my standard development environment. However, for various
reasons I would like the Whedbey WebForm applications to be hosted on the
host IIS rather than the VPC IIS.

My host NIC is a 3Com. I have set my single Virtual PC to
use the 3Com NIC as well through Setting of the Virtual

I have installed VPC 2004 on XP/Pro.
After installing the "Sygate" firewall, I became aware of the fact, that
"Virtual Maschine Network Service" (VMNetSrv.sys) is always active (and
transferring data in and out), although VPC itself is not active.

While on holiday my test pc has been updated to SP2 - I've re-installed
Virtual PC and pointed it and my vhd file.  Unfortunately I now get the
following two error messages which prevent me accessing my virtual pc: -

I have VPC 2004 installed on a Win200pro host.
I created a virtual machine with a win200pro OS onto it than i have
installed the VPC additions.
Now, every timle i boot my virtual machine, it asks me to upgrade or

virtual machine (RAM 256 mo) on a external drive. This is working well.
Now, I have installed VPC + SP1 on a laptop (pentium M 1.4 go, RAM 512 mo)
