VPC SP1 on 45 day demo20 Oct 2004 10:01 GMT6
I downloaded the 45 day demo, and installed it on a WinXP SP2 machine. After
creating a VPC and installing the VM Additions, I still can't get Shared
Folders to work, and Pointer Integration is checked, but grayed out. I then
downloaded the VPC SP1 update, but it won't install, ...

Diskeeper 8 can crash VPC20 Oct 2004 03:27 GMT10
I have experienced VPC lock ups with three different vm's while Diskeeper 8
Professional was running in the background on the host (XP Pro SP2, VPC

The freeze happened twice when the vm windows were in focus and once when a
Save State, Undo Disks, Revert, commit, etc19 Oct 2004 21:29 GMT7
I swear that I am not stupid.
But I just can NOT "get" what the right way is to use the Save State and
Undo Disks features in VPC. I have to admin that I am coming from about 6
years of VMware use, so I find it hard not to try to translate VPC features
Stuck Ctrl key with VPC19 Oct 2004 20:43 GMT1
I have a strange problem with VPC.  If I press Ctrl+Enter to toggle to the
primary OS and then again to toggle back to Virtual PC, the guest OS behaves
as if the Ctrl key was pressed down.  To "unlock" this feature, I can press
the Ctrl key again.  Any idea what can cause this or ...

OEM Device Driver Pass-thru19 Oct 2004 15:17 GMT6
I've got an OEM device on the PCI bus in my PC that has drivers for both
Windows XP and OS/2. I would like to be able to run my application as a
Virtual OS/2 session (hosted on XP) within Virtual PC but still have access
to the OEM device. Is this possible? If so, what do I need ...
SuSE 9.1 in VPC2004 -  Sax2 says 1600x1200x1619 Oct 2004 14:54 GMT1
but I'm sure it isn't.  Looks more like 1024x768.  The funny thing is
when the vm starts SuSE is definitely in 1600x1200 and then pops back
down when x starts.
Has anyone got this resolution to work or am I asking too much of the

Access to VFD files19 Oct 2004 00:17 GMT11
I have only one real use for a VFD file (virtual floppy file) and that is to
include a copy of my winnt.sit file, to automate installation of Windows. My
question is, is there any way to actually see into a VFD file without doing
it thru a VM? I know I could do an install of ...
for Ben Armstrong18 Oct 2004 22:56 GMT14
Ben, am I missing something or is there no Action menu item for the
precompactor nor any entry in the Help file?  After some looking I captured
the .iso in a guest and found out that ran the precompactor.  Is that the
only intended practice?
Fixing virtual hard disk size and identifying fixed virtual hard d18 Oct 2004 22:22 GMT1
Our project used Virtual PC 5.2 early on. We used Windows XP Pro Guest OS
that grew from 2.2GB[base image without applications] to 12GB! I do not see
why this could be given the fact that there were limited applications[<
100MB] and there is no reason why the image should grow to ...
