I recently installed SuSE 9.1 as a guest O/S under Virtual PC 2004. The host O/S is Win XP Pro. Today when I booted my PC I saw the SuSE welcome screen and Linux boot countdown. Hitting enter or waiting starts Win XP, the host O/S.

I'm interested to know if this is possible? Can i take a copy of the virtual disk and config file, rename them, open the config file and modify the virtual drive loction in order to keep a standard version i can use for new instances?

I am unable to install Windows 98. I downloaded the Windows 98 ISO image from MSDN. I created a new Windows 98 virtual machine. I start the virtual machine and it tells me Reboot and select proper Boot device

I would like to know if it is possible to put Virtual Machines on an external hard drive with Firewire 400, and run them from this disk. I think it is possible but my question is: will it be efficient (not too slow)? Thanks

I GOING TO PASS ALONG SOME FINDINGS msdos lan speedups I AM RUNNING MSVPC AND HAVING MSDOS GUEST i had been using new newtwork drivers on my host os which was WIN2K with realtek nic card 8139 , on motherboard nic card.

Well this is going to b pretty generic ..So i excuse myself right now.. I notice (Not by bencmark but by being a normal user) that VPC is pretty good at using RAM (so hit in this area is genrally very nominal) . Disk Reads and specially writes are not so good (Am I right) ...

I've installed MS Virtual PC 2004 onto my machine. I then setup a web and FTP server in the Virtual PC. I have an external firewall and using its port forwarding capabilities, forwarded ports 80 and 21 to the IP address of the Web/FTP server running within virtual PC.
