Just recently switched from ZAF to SPF. However, I soon realized that when SPF is active on the host machine, a Win XP SP2 Virtual Machine does not have network/internet access. AND, the host machine loses internet access as well!!

How easy is it to switch to the VM (once configured) and back to host machine? I would like to set up my friend's machine so he can quickly go back and forth. Will all the hardware settings in the VM be ready to go each time he opens the VM? He will not be able to do any ...

I post again because my subject was'nt the good one firstable i would like too say that the first thing i do after installing VPC is changing the HOST key which is "right shift" in the french version of VPC by the right CTRL key !

ben's WW blog on ide notes the below suggestion which indeed does work to fix boot failures. But it's not the solution for my problem, I don't HAVE the original box, so is there not some other way to do it ?

Since finding Norton AV 2004 to be unusable under VPC with or without the service pack I have been running test machines unprotected. I just saw a reference to Avast and am in the process of trying it. Has anybody found others that are usable? I don't mind buying one that

When I change the screen resolution of my VPC image, I end up with vertical and horizontal scrollbars. This becomes quite irritating after a while as I'm always have to click out of the VPC then back into it etc. Once you adjust the screen resolution is there a way to make whats ...

Am i being blonde here?!? i thought vpc auto expanded the virtual hd? The VPC HD is currently at 2.14GB and there's 16GB free space on the host drive but i'm getting running low on space within the vpc, 190MB free on vpc. installed with default settings

We are attempting to create VPC images for a classroom. Is there a way to uniquely name the machines without having different VPC images for each one? These images have SQL server and other tools on it so its not as easy as just changing the machine name.

I tried out VPC the first time with WXP Pro as host and WXP Pro as guest and now I am wondering how to get kazaa to work. Everytime I start the program there is no connection to the server. How can I get it to work?

I cannot play any games online because i guess my java is not set up correctly. i went to the java.com and downloaded the virtual machine, and it still won't work. when i go to yahoo and click on a game i get script errors and it will not let me play. what can i do to fix this ...

I am creating images for work I used to run from a share on the network by inserting a 'Network Floppy'. Which driver would I use to create a 'Network Floppy' that will alllow me to access a share on another VPC during initial setup?

I'm trying to install WinXP Home under VPC2004, getting an error message during setup: "The name for this computer that you specified earlier in Setup "MYNAME", is already assigned to another computer on the network. Please choose another name."
