OK this one was user error on my part, but I need some info on the best way to correct it. I left in a driver disk for setting up intellipoint / click on the host OS and ran it by mistake on a VPC machine (late night) and as such have no mouse and keyboard support in the the VPC ...

Quickly after start of SP1 install "Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use add/remove programs" In controlpanel/software there is no mention of VPC SP1.
