Hi, I'm a newb with VPC and was wondering if altering files of an application on the host hard drive would affect the hard drive of the virtual machine? If anyone could answer this I would greatly appreciate it.

I use Virtual PC to install Win 2000 Pro and Win XP. These has a same problem. After I install these 2 OS, they shows that network card(Intel 81140)is not install correctly. And I re-install it, the problem is occurs.

if I install an XP OS in a virtual machine,assuming that the computer already have a licensed XP Pro OS, do I have to buy a second license? and if yes, could this license be an OEM license?

The question is how do I take an image and move it to a hard drive and use it as a bootable system? Sorry if it's been asked before... TIA.

have 64 mb shared ram for nvidia card and 512 mb system memory. running old dos program that required lots of base 640 k. Will th vpc allow me to run a full 640 without the shared video ram

Does anyone know if VPC 2004 can support a virtual wireless network card of any type? I've got a network course we're setting up and a wireless LAN adapter would be useful.

As the subject says - Virtual PC 2004 SP1 Trial freezes at "Setup is starting windows" when I attempt to start up with an ISO image of XP Pro SP2. Any ideas?

I am thinking about trying Virtual PC. Will VPC recognize and allow access to compatible partitions on the host computer harddrive(s)? Would the C: partition have to be a compatible OS partition?

We are currently imaging laptops running xp sp2 with vpc 2004 installed and the nortel VPN client - after installing the vpn client the machines "forget" their NIC and no longer detect IP addresses on the LAN - it requires a uninstall and re-install of the VPN client to get them ...

Using VS or VPC what's the quickest method to creating a few extra clones of W98 or WXP? Can the VHD files just be copied and renamed and the machine IDs be renamed before joining the network? Or is DIFF files the method?
