Problems with VM Additions28 Feb 2005 23:07 GMT3
I know my configuration is unsupported but has anyone run into this.  I was
able to take a couple of my physical images (Windows 2000 SP3 and Windows XP
SP1a) and get them into a VM.  The VM runs perfectly in both cases.  After I
install the VM additions and the VM reboots the VM ...
Max of 12 on VPC list?28 Feb 2005 20:37 GMT2
I'm having a problem with VPC. I just found out it will only allow me to
"show" 12 installations on the list at a time. The other ones are still
installed on my hard drives, but they are simply not shown on the list. When
I add one that is bumped from the list, it will show on ...
Cannot get mouse pointer to integrate28 Feb 2005 20:28 GMT9
I imported my old lap-top running XP pro into a virtual PC on my new laptop
(also running XP pro)to allow me to smooth over the change of machines.
I have installed and uninstalled Virtual additions many many times, I have
poked around removing failed video drivers etc.
Mandrake Linux 10.128 Feb 2005 20:26 GMT5
I guess this is Microsoft's way of punishing users of any other OS under
VPC, well, maybe just linux anyway, but I am coming up on 5 hours install
time, and I have another hour and 25 left...This is rediculous!!  I
installed every other MS OS that I had and it installed just ...
USB Keyboard/Mouse not usable in Guest OS28 Feb 2005 19:41 GMT2
I have a new PC that does not have PS/2 connections. My keyboard and mouse
are USB and I installed Linux (Fedora Core 1) to test out an NFS server
problem I am encountering.
After I installed the OS, I cannot do anything, since the mouse and the
Not impressed28 Feb 2005 19:27 GMT6
I just installed VPC on a fresh XP install on a 3.5 Ghz box with 2 gig of
ram.  The idea was to install the beta of .Net 2....the reality...VPC is a
joke.  The performance is very bad and it had a problem reading the .Net 2
DVD.  I had expected much more than I received.
Host replication on VPC28 Feb 2005 14:36 GMT2
I was trying several backup software, and in order to test whether the
backup image will run once I need it (btw many of these software test the
images as fine and then at restore time they look corrupt). I tried to
replicate the system partition of the host operating system ...
VirtualPC2004 SP1 intermittently breaks/resets host machines network28 Feb 2005 07:28 GMT1
Hi,
I've got what's a major annoyance - doubly annoying since I originally
purchased the stand-alone version prior to getting my MDSN Universal
subscription.
Problem with Windows 3.028 Feb 2005 06:05 GMT5
I installed 3.0 just fine with DOS 6.22 and when I type win, the Windows
welcome screen comes up and then the screen goes black.  Following are my
startup files, and while everything starts just fine, I have experimented
with boot configs via these files (including and not ...
Windows 3.1 Question28 Feb 2005 05:55 GMT17
Win 3.1 installed just fine on a DOS 6.22  VM, but when I try to run it I get
an immediate return to the C:\ prompt after a very brief screen clear.  Any
further attempt to do ANYTHING results in VM lockup and a Reset is the only
thing that will recover.
SQL Server Licensing on VPC 200428 Feb 2005 05:54 GMT8

on ONE PC using VPC2004 do I need a License for EACH installation or am I
covered by one license for ONE machine still ?
Win 98 and XP28 Feb 2005 04:53 GMT1
I have one program that was programmed for Win 95/98 and the company went out
of business.  I presently have two Win 98 machines that I keep just to run
this program (primary and backup).  It will not load on my XP Pro (I have 2
of them).  The software company is long gone and ...
Checked XP28 Feb 2005 01:06 GMT4
I thought it would be neat to be able to do some kernel debugging on a
virtual machine instead of fiddling with cables and ghost.
Unfortunately once I had installed the checked XP build I realized that
a lot of the services would just crash every time. Since many of these
Mandrake Linux 10.x - Anyone ever get sound?28 Feb 2005 00:36 GMT3
Anyone, Anyone?
I have used the sndconfig utility to no avail...select the SB16, and use the
default settings, and have even changed the settings to experiment, but no
sound...am I missing something?  Thanks in advance for any pointers.
XP Activation in Virtual PC27 Feb 2005 20:42 GMT10
Here is my dilemma, I need to install XP on a Virtual PC and activate it so
that I can use it for more than 30 days.
The concern I have is that if I activate it I will not be able to create
another Virtual PC (or on a "real" PC) from the same XP install disc in the
