When I try to start the VPC console on my machine, it takes more than 5 minutes to start. The reason for this seems to be that VPC is scanning the harddisk for something. (Process explorer shows that VPC is opening directories unrelated to VPC)

I have the Windows ME re-installation disk, and on Virtual PC 2004, I get to the installation, and it says Windows ME cannot be installed on this machine. Please get the right one from your manufacturer. What's all that mean? And is there a way to get Windows ME to work?
