Usually, I want the top menu gone (to save screen real estate). However,
then it seems impossible to change what ISO you have captured for the CD
drive, so you need the top menu. And to enable THAT you have to power down
the guest - why, and is there a way around this?

Hi, I'm trying to use VPC to connect to a different domain with a laptop
without losing my connection to my main domain.  I'm running XP Pro SP1 on

Can I load a guest o/s (win 98 or Dos) on pc running win2k that doesn't
support dos or win98  nativley? We have some legacy apps that only run in a
DOS environment however the new systems we are purchasing don't support the
older o/s. Can I use virtual PC to get around this or ...

I created a DOS partition in VPC, but I can't format the drive...I'm told the
function is not supported....Also, when the OS looks like it installing I get
a message saying, "please wait while setup initializes, scanning system
registry", but that   process just hangs forever.... ...

Hi all, I've been working with Virtual PC 2004 for a few weeks - so I am a
newby to this arena and  have run across a show stopper of a problem.
I am trying to Ghost an image that was setup on a Dell GX260 that has a HAL
setting - Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) ...

This problem has been seen on 2 Dell D600 laptops, with 2 GB RAM, 2 GHZ CPU

Hello, I'm trying to install Windows 95, but it keeps freezing up when it
gets to the Setup screen (after the initial % count). I've done the following:
- Installed MS-DOS 7.1 (couldn't find any other version) and in doing so,
partitioned the drive as FAT/16/32

In the VM-bios you can select various floppy-drives but when trying to
capture a 2.88 MB floppy image.

Trying to get network connectivity from dos to load an OS image to VPC.
Dos disk does not find the NIC from within VPC in order to connect to the
network.
Works OK from the Host system.

Im having problems when tried to boot with a network floppy disk in my VPC
2004 SP1, i cant get network resources because the virtual driver doesnt work.
Does anyone have a floppy disk image or something like this?
