it took a few weeks and a bunch of restarting of the installation process but Gentoo works in a Virtual Machine... And I recommend it -

I compressed my Virtual Drive (13gig - 6 gig free) after 1st defraging the host drive and then running Eraser.exe to set .vhd unused space to zeros. When the compression completed, the resulting virtual drive was the same size as the original. I have SP1 installed.

I've tried everything that I know...I can't seem to download the latest VM update. Not sure where to look from here. I also now seem to have a problem pulling up certain pages on the web...the page and frames appears, but with no data.

I'm trying to find a solution to the problem several people has: my keyboard is lost every time I change the focus from VPC window to another one. The only remedy is to save the state of the VPC, shut down Virtual Pc and restart it.

Hello, I've got Windows 95 running in Virtual PC, but I can't get it to recognize the CD-ROM drive. I installed Win95 by copying the setup files from the CD onto the Virtual Hard Disk. Any ideas?
