I am new to Linux and VPC.
I am frustrated that two installs of Linux have each resulted in similarly
unusable configurations under VPC.  I have tried four distributions of Linux
and have yet to get one that seems "OK".

I recently purchased a new system running XP Pro/SP2 which has 4GB of RAM.
If I go to My Computer and look at properties, I see it shows that I only
have 2.8GB or something another.   Why does XP show this?  The BIOS screen
detects all memory.

Hi -- I just purchased MSDN Universal which includes VPC 2004, Visual Studio
2003, etc.   In November when Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 is
released, I will be entitled to receive these applications as well under my

How can I make the disk bigger for VPC 2004?  It would seem when I go and
install and OS, there is already a default size given.  I can't change it.
What happens if my C: drive runs out of space under VPC 2004?

I want to set up a virtual network lab using two computers. One computer will
host virtual servers and other computer will host virtual pcs.
After setting up the lab. student can access this lab through internet
(using VPN or RAS). All the ideas are welcomed.

Hi, I've been using Virtual PC for a while but can't work out how to
launch a virtual PC without adding it first to the console.( ie launch from a
shortcut )
If I use the command switches     -pc 'virtual pc name' -singlepc -launch

I have Win2k in an Virtual PC.  It starts in 640x480.  I set the
resolution to 1024x768, then shutdown the machine (via Start/Shutdown).
 When I restart, the VM goes back to 640x480.  What can I do to make
the resolution stick around.

I am having to install a new hard drive. I have a dual boot system which
allows me to use my Logitech sheet feed scanner. I would prefer to do a new
install over ghosting my old drive.

created a DOS6.22 machine.  We've tried to drag and drop a binary file from
the host machine to the DOS6.22 machine (C:\) but we get the no-no symbol.

I do not know where to get the DOS network driver for VPC. I want to install
DOS and MSCLIENT so that I can connect to a server from DOS environment in
the VPC.

I have an interesting problem, I was hoping someone might have already
seen and have a solution for.
I have a Windows XP SP2 machine, with Virtual PC 2004 SP1 installed, and
Norton Corporate v10 AntiVirus/etc.  The "Tamper Protection" feature is
IEEE 1394 ("FireWire") support in VPC02 Jul 2005 09:54 GMT2
Any plans about 1394 interface support in a next release of Virtual PC ?
I would greatly improve kernel debugging of guest WinXP and later OSes.

Hi.  I need to completely re-install my main system OS - Windows XP Pro.  
I'll then reinstall Virtual PC.  But I have about 15 different virtual
machines.  It would be nice if I somehow could back up the virtual machine
definitions and then restore them once I reinstall Virtual ...
