In the Virtual PC Help file on Compacting a Virtual Hard Disk, there is this
suggestion:
a.. Before compacting the disk, we recommend that you use a disk utility to
zero out blank space, which should result in a smaller compacted virtual

I'm trying to migrate Windows 2003 from a 'real' PC into VPC.  I am
using a program called Bootit NG (BING) to image the C: partition.
BING can restore image files it creates (.IMG) on hard drive, or from
CD/DVDs that are ISO 9660 Mode 1 formatted.

I have a Virtual PC installed on WIN XP. How can I connect to a server (WIN
2000)  through a DOS operating system?

I had a Windows 95 VM with 2 hard drive images "connected".
I removed one of those hard drive images because I didn't need it anymore
and it was just wasting hard drive space on the host.

I have an external USB drive of 250 GB. This drive i use for my VPC enviroment.
I have a windows 2003 server with SMS. The virtual harddrive is a 15 GB
dynamically expanding disk.
Since 2 days ago, i am getting disk errors. I can not use SMS. I saw that

in partition C. there are another 4 partitions, d, e, f  & g. the partitions
were done using partition magic 8.0 and all are fat32 file system.

I'd like to drop in a suggestion, when I close a VPC machine with undo disk
enabled. Can the 'Commit Undo Disk' option be set to NO by default for
options where they appear like 'Save Machine State'?

Suppose I have a VM (any Windows OS) where shared folders are on. I share,
say, folder C:\TEMP as X: drive.
If a virus gets to the files on the X: drive, can this virus propagate to
the host?

Is it possible to use a dual monitor configuration within Virtual PC?  
The guest OS is Win2k.
