When I was using VMware Workstation, I could use host drives in the guest via a mapping. I had to make sure the user name and password were the same on both systems and I installed IPX to get around a problem I was having with my ISP's DHCP server.

When I try to create a linked disk, no disk drives show in the Wizard. I have 3 hard drives. Two are 300 gig, one is 250 gig. I have copies of my install CDs and drives on a partition on one of the drives and want to be able to read it in the guest in order to install the OS.

I have tried installing Linux ( Fedora/RedHat/Suse etc) on a new Virtual Machine. The installation goes alright - but after installation when I boot into Linux ; resolution changes & becomes so high that VPC shifts back to windowed

OK -- I've been struggling with this problem for some time and can't figure out what's going. After a period of time (sometimes as short as a day, sometimes as long as weeks or months) an ipconfig/all from the command line shows no interfaces.
