Unable to access Host drives via NAT07 Nov 2005 09:21 GMT3
When I was using VMware Workstation, I could use host drives in the guest via
a mapping.  I had to make sure the user name and password were the same on
both systems and I installed IPX to get around a problem I was having with my
ISP's DHCP server.

When I try to create a linked disk, no disk drives show in the Wizard.
I have 3 hard drives.  Two are 300 gig, one is 250 gig.
I have copies of my install CDs and drives on a partition on one of the
drives and want to be able to read it in the guest in order to install the OS.

Believe it or not, I need to set up a virtual machine in VirtualPC 2004
for MS-DOS.  However, to do that, I need to be able to boot up from a
floppy drive in order to format the virtual hard drive and make it
bootable.  The system on which I am running VPC is a laptop, and the

hey all,
i built my domain contoller with 1 virtual network card (Local Only) and was
wondering if i can somehow connect to the internet to get my updates. If so,
how would i go about doing that?

I use Windows XP Pro with SP2 and a trial version of VirtualPC SP1. I
installed Debian linux as guest OS. The machin access the internet with a
router and has a fix IP: 192.168.1.100. I add my Realtek ethernet card in the

Just setup my 4th VM, Win NT 4.0 Server, but can't get networking to work.  I
had no problems with Win 98, Win 2k Pro and Win 2k Server.  For all of them,
I have 1 NIC, set to Shared Networking (NAT).  During the NT install, it
found the default NIC and seems to have installed it ...

Hi. I am using VPC5 (thru' OS9.2) and Windows XP Home. The host Mac is
connected to the web via the ethernet port, but I can't seem to get Windows
XP (when the Mac is emulating a PC) to connect to the net. Can anyone tell

OK -- I've been struggling with this problem for some time and can't figure
out what's going. After a period of time (sometimes as short as a day,
sometimes as long as weeks or months) an ipconfig/all from the command line
shows no interfaces.
