I´m having trouble installing W95 on VPC with XP host OS. I get the
following message:
"Cannot create temproary directory. If you have HPFS of NFTS installed on
your HD you will need to create an MS-DOS boot partition"

is there a tool that let's you administrate dozens of different virtual
machines more comfortable than the default window?
For example with an explorer like tree view where you can group the VMs
and where you can edit all settings.

I am using virtual pc to run a windows 98 environment machine. I need this to
run an old legacy ad booking system that is not compatible with anything
other than Windows 9x.
The legacy system is hosted by a Netware 4.11 server.

I have got XP Prof installed with 2 Gb RAM
I have Virtual PC 2004 SP1 installed on it
in which i installed Win2003 Server with 512 MB RAM
now i am trying to install Windows 2000 Advanced Server with 256 MB RAM

I'm running MS Server 2003 Virtual PC on a XP Pro box. I'm needing to have
"network" comunications between the two even if my NIC flylead is
disconnected. How would I resolve this?

I have XP pro running on Host Machine. I have created a VM  and named it
"Server machine".  created vhd, allocated Memory of  512 MB etc.  Now when I
enter the VM console and "start" it gives a message ".............Insert boot
media in the selected boot drive".

Issuing NSLOOKUP in a Host (Win XP Pro) returns "Default Server:
dns01.loc.com, Address: 1.17.0.53" (as appropriate) and enters Interactive

Are utilizing a VPC setup for MOC courses and have activated images
successfully, only to find they deactivate (randomly I might add)
within a day.  Any ideas?  I've had to call MS to get another
activation and wait the hour(s) to do so = only to have my course

I recently installed VPC2004 onto my TabletPC (Tecra M4) so I can run
Windows 98 on it (and thus, run a load of apps that don't run on Windows XP
Tablet PC Edition 2005).
Thing is, after installing Windows 98 (First-Edition) from my "Windows 98

I need to deploy Virtual PC across a number of machines. I am trying to
identify how to set the Virtual PC Options - Performance settings without
having to do so from the Virtual PC Console.
I have been unable to find registry key that will let me do this.

Is windows 2003 server a supported guest for VPC 2004? I know SP1 makes is a
supported host OS.

I have tried to do an asr backup
of Windows XP Prof SP2 (+ Virtual PC Additions)
in Virtual PC 2004 SP1 ?
But everytime at the end of the asr-backup i am asked to insert a floppy disk.
