I use VirtualPC in a test and develop environment. Yesterday I used save state at the end of the day to stop working an go home. This morning I wanted to resume working again in my VirtualPC environment but it crashed starting up.

I currently have a Windows/XP Pro laptop for development, a Windows/2000 laptop with office installed for compatibility testing my apps with Windows 2000/Office 2000 and a third (very old) laptop with a very basic Windows 2000 on it for testing install CD's. This is stupid!

When a VM is not in Fullscreen mode, why is the Restore Button disabled? And the shortcut of double-clicking on the Title Bar does not maximze the VM window? What is the advantage of disabling these two features of standard windows

Am I allowed to install Virtual PC 2004 on 2 computers, say my desktop (faster, more RAM and disk space) and notebook (portability!)? I know some software packages allow that, but I could not tell if Virtual PC 2004 does. Thanks!

I am using VPC 2004 w/ SP1. I have set up NT4 and W2K domains with VPC and it has worked great. With NT4 and W2K virtual servers I can access my host system via TCP/IP along with the rest of my LAN and the Internet.

I just tried to run GoogleEarth but VPC appears to not support DirectX...something about memory mode being too large? Is there a known solution for DirectX under VPC... or is this slated for the next release?
