I have these questions about Virtual PC.
1.- can be istalled on a clean HDD?
2.- can I install ANY OS system? like Linux or a Novell server
3.- exist problems with performance degradation? speed, graphics,etc.

When setting up a Virtual Machine OS for use as a standard image, do you
gurus out there include the Virtual Machine Additions in that image or do
you leave it out?

When I use a DOS program, like Master Of Orion II, the screen changes size,
and the mouse is out of synch.
I am unable to use the whole screen due to this problem. When I move the
mouse, it moves at a different speed. Going Full Screen does not help.

Host OS - XP-Pro SP2
I have an issue installing Virtual PC SP1, Virtual PC itself installs fine,
but when I attemp to install SP1, I get an error indicating "Another version
of this software is already installed ....."

I am confused by the KB899525 which solves the repeating keys problem in VPC
2004 SP1.  I Called Microsoft and downloaded the VPC 2004 hotfix as

I installed OS/2 wrap 4 in virutal PC under Windows XP Prof.
In OS/2, my Java program referencing "localhost" does not work.  I tried to
'ping localhost' or 'ping 127.0.0.1' but it cannot ping properly.  The host
mapping file under C:\mptn\etc\hosts is correctly defined the ...

I get memory address errors when trying to install Windows Vista Build 5308
on Virtual PC version 5.3.582.27.
My machine has 1GB RAM allocated 400MB to the Virtual PC, 8GB Virtual HDD.
Os is Win XP Sp_2

Can .vhd files be safely compressed any with a utility like WinZip?  These
files can get awfully big.

On separarate machines, I receive the following message:
The virtual hard disk could not be created. The virtual hard disk image
“c:\vhd\aaaa.vhd” is too large for the IDE bus. Make sure that all virtual
hard disk images connected to the IDE bus are not greater than 127 GB.

I installed Win XP on my VPC and when logging into the local machine it loads
extremely fast but when I try to log into my office Network it is dog slow.
Any ideas?

I am Mahesh I am facing following problem on VS 2005.
I have dual processor server machine with windows 2003 installed in
taskmanager it's show me 4 processor but in virtual machine taskmanager its
show single processor.

Can I run Windows Server 2003 as a guest OS inside of VPC 2004?

I created a virtual server 2003 as a DC and joined an Virtual xp pc to
it.  I can ping the server from the workstation.  The server can get to
the internet.  However the workstation cannot access the internet.  It
cannot ping the gateway.  It is resolving DNS.
