When I open virtual pc my dvd drive will not read any dvd disc inserted in it, but will read a cd rom disc, and that is even when i capture the dvd drive. Please assit. Thank you

I have SQL Server 2005 installed on Windows Server 2003 on VPC. I can't connect to it and the first step that is the problem is telnet to the server on port 1433. I don't know where to start troubleshooting.

I tried the first version of virtual machine on an old P2 with 512 ram and found it to be unusable. I now have virtual machine 2005 , was going to install on a P4 3.0 with 512 ram - will this be usable ?
