I'm running Virtual PC under Vista and when I first started in on this it
was actually working rather well, but since original install of Win2003
server in VPC performance has degraded horrifically to the point where just
booting up takes half and hour.

I must be missing something.  I am using a VPc guest as a development box to
play with VS2005 Beta, but I need to get to a Web Service on the host
machine, and I can't.

When I try to install Windows 98 on Virtual PC 2004, setup fails
because it says I don't have 16MB of RAM.
I have tried assigning different values to this virtual instance (64,
128, 256) and all fail.  The physical machine itself has 1GB, but I

after product key is typed in get error can not read windows image file
installation is stoped. is this vista issue or a vpc issue. allocated 600mb
ram and 30gb virtual hdd

I have a virtual hard disk on 7,5 GB.
It contains only 3,2 GB data.
I have tried to compact it, but it does not help   :-(
Analysing the disk shows that the disk was fragmented.

I use win XP pro.sp2 on my  host pc, I installed win2003 server(web edition)
on VPC2004, It work well but I couldn't reach win2003 from host machine.

am concerned about having such an "easy" single file method of having
the entire product copied and usable to whomever might gain access to

Pentium D 805 2.6GHz
2 x 512MB OCZ DDR2 800MHz Platinum Dual Channel

Is there a way to convert a .gho (ghost) file or a DVD ISO to a VHD file with
out copying the data to a dvd and then copying back in to hosted VHD file,
the virtual pc is running DOS

I've installed DOS and got Mechwarrior2 working nicely in VPC, but after 2
or 3 minutes into any mission, the sound cuts out completely.
I've installed the Creative SB16 drivers and it hasn't made any difference.  
Any one run into the same problem or know how to fix it?

I have installed Virtual PC on windows XP. and just starts using it. If i try
