I'm trying to set up a VM to take a look at Linux. When I set up the hard drive, I set it up as 'dynamic'... all seemed to go fine, with no errors etc... But when it was done, the new VM doesn't show up in the Console. The others

My current office system (3.4 GHz P4, WinXP pro, including Win98 application in VPC 2004) is running OK and I am currently planning its upgrade. I expect to install my applications in a WinVista, VPC 2007, multi-core (when processor match 3.4 GHz) machine early next year.

I recently purchased a Dell Latitude D820 to replace an existing Latitude D810. The D820 has a T2600 2.16Ghz Intel Centrino Duo processor and the D810 has a 2.13Ghz Intel Centrino processor. Both machines have 2GB of RAM.

I have a Win2K VM. It's set to "Allow Any Screen Resolution" in the VPC prefs. Once it's booted, I switch to full screen mode (right-Alt+Enter), and then set it to 1024x768/32bit color in the Win2K desktop properties.

Are there any known issues with using the linux program "dd" to make images of floppy disks for use with Virtual PC 2004? The goal is to use my old software with VPC, but the host machine has no floppy drive.
