I posted some of this info on a Solaris-specific newsgroup, but thought it might be of interest here, since I've seen a number of posts about getting Solaris 10 X86 running under VPC, and I myself had tried, but failed to get that running by installing Solaris "directly".

I am trying to install CP/M-86 under VPC 2007. According the list (http://vpc.visualwin.com/), it should work. However, whenever I boot up, it hangs with an error that says 'Addr Mark Missing.' I've tried several different floppies with no luck.
