Serial Port access for Windows98 guest?18 May 2008 15:21 GMT7
Which host do I need to make this work?
We've got a Windows98 machine which uses a legacy app for collecting data
from test equipment with a 9-pin serial port.
Last I checked in serial ports were not supported, even in vmware.
How to send a @ character to the guest?18 May 2008 15:20 GMT4
It seems a nightmare to me.
I just received the W2003 Dynamics AX4 virtual machine.
I installed VirtualPC2004SP1, and I properly connected the virtual
machine to the consolle.

Hi.  This is my first time using Virtual PC, and I'm trying to get Windows 98
SE installed.  I've tried twice so far, both times with the same error.  I've
created a new virtual pc, and a new virtual drive (the first time dynamic,
the second time fixed at 4 gb).  I'm booting to ...

Active processes sucking up CPU time16 May 2008 20:39 GMT1
For a while VPC2007 worked just fine running Windows Vista. Recently,
however, I find that any active processes suck up tremendous amounts of
CPU time, so that if you're actually doing anything in the guest OS, the
guest CPU time runs at 100% and everything is dreadfully slow.
Forcing use of VPC when logging into XP16 May 2008 15:26 GMT6
I want to force the use of a VPC instance when a user logs into their
account.  Then, when they log out of their VPC instance I would like them
forced back to the main system Welcome screen.
Any ideas how to do this?
Virtual PC 2007 Causes Vista SP1 to hang16 May 2008 11:17 GMT5
On a dual-core system, I have a fresh install of Vista SP1 (host OS)
and Virtual PC2007 ( no VMs configured yet ).
Almost every time I bootup the system, it hangs with CPU usage 100%
and Physical Memory usage constantly increasing in TaskManager.
Linking two VPC instances with virtual serial ports?16 May 2008 06:46 GMT1
Is it possible to link to concurrent instances of Virtual PC (2007 SP1)
together with a virtual serial port? The OS dev project I'm working on has a
program to allow remote control of a UNIX box via serial port, so I'd like to
test it.
Can't access secondary hard disk16 May 2008 00:06 GMT2
I set up a secondary hard disk, which I've attached to the virtual machine in
the hope that I could work around the lack of memory on the primary disk. The
settings for the machine show that the secondary disk is there, at the moment
it is empty and is set up as a dynamically ...
Possible solution for having to rejoin the domain periodically15 May 2008 21:59 GMT3
http://theether.net/kb/100040
If you are using UNDO disks and the computer account password happens to
change on the machine, when you shut down the changes are not saved on the
virtual machine and it reverts to the old settings. The domain controllers
Boot To Virtual PC image15 May 2008 19:43 GMT7
I am using Virtual PC 2007 on an XP machine.  I have created an
virtual image using Windows 98 OS.  Is there a way to have the XP
machine boot directly to the Windows 98 image that I have created?
