| Whats the story with iPod compatability? | 31 Jul 2006 08:02 GMT | 2 |
I was recently given an iPod 4th generation (not the photo version) as a gift, and I'm not sure its supposed to work with x64. I've heard people say that their iPod works fine, but I'm having some odd problems. I'll plug up the iPod (newest iTunes that will work with x64 and iPod ...

| Problems setting up guest os using VMware Workstation | 31 Jul 2006 07:20 GMT | 7 |
A few weeks ago I bought a new AMD Athlon X2 4600 64-bit system (and 2 GB ddr2 ram), I can run 99% of 32-bit software that I have, problem is that cannot use scanner or printer (neither manufacturer supports 64bit). I'm using Windows XP Pro 64-bit.

| 32-Bit Driver/Hardware Compatibility Mode? | 30 Jul 2006 17:49 GMT | 11 |
Just to settle an argument (friendly!) - can someone kindly inform me on this: Is there actually a 32-bit driver/device/hardware "compatibility mode" for the 64-bit versions of windows (Pro, Server or Vista)? I said there is not simply because if there was, then every 32-bit device

I see that Windows x64 has 2 versions of Internet Explorer (a 32 bit and a 64 bit). It appears the 32 bit is set as default. How do I change this to the 64 bit vesion? Is there a difference anyway?

| Which anti-virus would you use - NOD32 or AVG? | 30 Jul 2006 15:35 GMT | 17 |
I'm wondering which one is better for use with XP-64 bit... right now trying out AVG with firewall. I'm hesitant about just relying on using the firewall that comes with XP, not sure if it's that great. Also, what are your thoughts about the Windows firewall?

I'm quite new to x64. I reinstalled x64 a few days ago. Because the system got slow and the icon for HTML(.html, .htm, .xml) were set to Windows' default icon. I don't remember exactly when and how it became like that.

| Why didn't Intel come out with 64 bit long ago ? | 29 Jul 2006 00:53 GMT | 36 |
I don't mean to bore others ( no wisecracks) but since Intel bought DEC's Alpha architecture and DEC had 64 bit chips in the friggin' 90's, how come AMD beat Intel to 64 bit ? Where is Intel heading ? Think they prefer dual 32 bit to 64 bit ? Is that it ? Then why spend the $$ ...

| "Classic Search"? | 28 Jul 2006 16:19 GMT | 12 |
Just when you thought Windows XP "Bob Dog" search could not get any worse, they throw the Vista search at you, which is totally useless. (I have just spent 1/2 hour trying to get it to find .svn files which I know exist, but it fails to find).
