Prevent The Cruelty24 Jul 2006 02:10 GMT2
Please excuse this offtopic post but I am trying to spread awareness of
atrocities being commited to animals.  If you love animals as I do,
please help prevent the cruelty by boycotting IAMS and EUKANUBA
products for their inhumane treatment of animals.  Please spread the
Why is there an x86 emu if a processor is x86-64?24 Jul 2006 00:52 GMT4
I don't quite understand the approach Microsoft has taken with x64. I have an
AMD Athlon 64 3500+, and it supports both 64bit instructions and the 32bit.
So why is x64 emulating the 32bit instructions while my CPU can interpret
them natively? Wouldn't that give me better ...

do I go about notifying MS of problems with it?

DVD re - writer23 Jul 2006 16:39 GMT1
My computer won't read software from the CD/DVD drive. Prevoiusly it would
read software CD's but not music CD's so I changed the settings under
properties and it now reads and copies music CD's but not software. I've
tried changing the setting under properties again but there ...

x64-to-Vista: Will clean-install Vista "upgrade" invalidate x64 license?23 Jul 2006 00:00 GMT11
I realize this is putting the cart about a mile in front of the horse, but
there are knowledgeable people on the NG who are always willing to help. So
I will ask this premature question.
Microsoft has said that x64 users will qualify for "upgrade" pricing to
Problems with cookies in Win XP6422 Jul 2006 22:08 GMT6
I have the strangest issues with sites that uses PHP to generate
cookies.  If it's a site that you have to log in to, often it will not
log in.  No error message or anything, but it just acts as though you
refreshed the page without sending the login info.
32 bit IE stability22 Jul 2006 20:28 GMT5
Does anyone else have a problem where 32 bit IE just quits. Most of the
time I get no indication there was any kind of error, IE just goes
away. 64 bit IE doesn't seem to have this problem. My system seems
completely stable other than this 1 problem (no problems in memtest+ or
Any pitfalls for Win2003 - 64 bit?21 Jul 2006 17:12 GMT6
We are getting a new database server and are considering running 64-bit
versions of both the OS and SQL 2005. I'm trying to understand the
drawbacks we might face with going with 64-bit versions.
I know hardware drivers are something we'll need to make sure are
PC does not consistently hibernate21 Jul 2006 08:44 GMT7
I have a dual-core Athlon 64 with an ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Motherboard.  The

The other times it just says preparing to hibernate and gets stuck at the
blue screen.  Has anyone seen this before or is it ...
