This may have been asked before, but I searched the postings and did not find what i was looking for. In the 32bit world, the OS gets 2GB of ram, and then the rest of the memory is diced up into 2GB chunks for applications. This can be changed from 2/2

I don't know if this is a virus or what. i am running xp64 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\cmd.exe can no longer be found by the file explorer.

I've noticed that all my Windows XP x64 PCs have a huge VM size in Task Manager, I think it's only since the last MS patch day. Also the machines are popping up dialog boxes saying Windows is running short of virtual memory and has increased the page file size.

any ideas why 2 new x64 builds won't use the A: floppy drives, both machines tell me there are disks in the drives even though they are empty.

Inspirion E 1405 appears to have x64 drivers available in the download area... http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&Sys temID=INS_PNT_E1405&os=WXPX&osl=EN Some for Server 2K3 x64 as well...

In my present 32-bit system I like to keep my program files in a completely separate partition to the operating system (as far as I can - some programs don't offer you the choice of where to install). When installing 32-bit programs in XP x64 can I still do this??

Speedcommander (http://www.speedproject.de/enu/speedcommander/index.html) is an x64 native file manager that works in the dual pane fashion, preferred by some of us out there. It is not freeware. You'll have to shell out 37.95 euros for buying it.
