I've just downloaded windows Vista x64 RC1. At the end of setup (at final
step), display goes to blank and wont get back. But led indicator on computer

I installed Vista RC-1 (5600) x64 and did a complete PC backup to a
seperate hard disk.  Now, when I boot from the installation DVD and
select to Repair it sees the backup I made but won't restore it because
it says its not using the x64 version of WinRE.  How do I get the x64

I have waited for hours at the "34 minures remaining milestone" but
nothing happens. it just waits at that particular point indefinately. I
read on another thread somewhere that it might happen because of some
hardware not being able to install so I unplugged all the hardware

Hi everyone, I am just wondering why I can't use memory sticks in my
computer...i have tried three separate sticks, and when I open E drive, no
files come up..also, most times when I connect my memory stick, I get the msg

I work on literally hundreds of different computers and was wondering if
anyone out there knows of a quick and dirty way to tell whether a given
installation of XP Pro is 32-bit or 64-bit?  
I would have thought M$ would have put something on the System

I've tested all of my hardware on a windows 32-bit system and under Windows
XP Pro x64 safe mode and running regedit works fine but when I bring either
that or task manager up it opens for one second then closes immediately.
this computer is mainly for web sites, oputlook, and EQ, ...

Operating system is WinXP Pro 64 bit. AMD Athlon X2. DSL LAN
Internet Explorer 64-bit can access internet and works fine.

I built a second PC today. this time using an ASUS P5WD2 Premium motherboard
with intel pentium 4 630+ processor and SATA Raid1 disk configuration
The  Vista Beta 2 x64  Installation disk boots up fine, but falls at the
first hurdle: " A required CD/DVD device driver is missing, ...

I am running Vista 64 Build 5472.  When I insert a CD or DCD and open
Explorer I get the Vista Burn window.  I do not want to burn but just read
the CD or DVD.  Any solutions.
