Logon problems - Corrupted Profile?07 Sep 2006 01:33 GMT1
I have a workgroup set up here, with the same username/pw combinations on
all machines. However, when I try to log on to my x64 box, I sometimes (but
not always) get an error message saying that a temporary profile is being
loaded with the following messages:

Any help is sincerely appreciated....
I cannot find a MS site to purchase the DVD by mail, as I did for the Beta
version. I am a DUN account, and a download is not a viable option. Not to
mention the problems with faulty ISO downloads.

XP: Need to change 'workstation' service so it loads LAST because i have problems. (delay at boot)06 Sep 2006 20:28 GMT12
i have a problem experiencing a 20sec delay booting XP SP2, and i
figured out the reason for
this delay is the "workstation" service which looks for files/folders
in my little private network.

I was going to do a disk defrag - and the option isn't there any more via the
Start-->Programs-->Accessories-->System Tools.  Not to worry I thought, I'll
do it via the Disk Management console via  Start-->Settings-->Control
Panel-->Adminstrative Tools - and the Disk Management ...

How much memory can a 32 bit process, program, application use?05 Sep 2006 15:34 GMT1
I have a PC with 4 GB memory (RAM). The Windows XP 64 bit can see 3,71 GB.
I am using a 32 bit FEA Program for structural and civil engineering which
needs a lot of memory when it is analysing big models.
When working with Windows XP 32 bit SP1, the  program (process) can use
how to make a 32bit application use more than 2GB RAM on 64bit Windows 200305 Sep 2006 14:42 GMT8
Is it posssible for a 32bit application to use more than 2GB RAM on
Windows 2003 server, Enterprise Edition, 64bit (x64)?
I have tried to add /3GB into c:\boot.ini, but it doesn't work. It
seems that the switch /3GB is for 32bit Windwos 2003 only, right?

My trusty i960 printer is acting like the print head is damaged. I checked
around Ebay and people are asking $60+ for *used* i960 print heads. Forget
that. I've had 3 good years. might be time for a new printer. Perhaps also
time to add a dual boot XP64 bit install on my new ...

I spent the weekend shaking out my new Core 2 Duo E6600 box.  XP Pro x64

When I said shaking out, I meant it literally.  My primary optical drive
suddenly wouldn't read a cd.  After tearing my hair out for a couple of
