after speaking to microsoft they pointed me to this newsgroup
i have a samsung ml 1610 (no drivers from samsung )
i have installed ml 1710 driver and they work fine in xp 64
but still get found ml 1610 prompt on startup

I have been plagued by numerous problems with my otherwise so wonderfully
stable x64 machine. It's been one thing after the other, and it all started
with the dreadfull NEWDOTNET malware attack of almost six month's ago.
Just now, I found out I'm a reasonably happy man!

I've been running XP64 as an evaluation in a work environment for about a
month now.  Generally everything is fine, but there is one annoying problem.
Clicking on hyperlinks in Word only work speratically.  The behavior seems
to vary from fast response (rare) to slow response ...

Do you know how to change my display back to landscape? I somehow flipped it
sideways when I loaded a new mouse and keyboard!
Also, I have a mouse, keyboard, monitor switcher box so I can use the same
equipment for home and WORK pc's in my home office.  The box requires ps2

Having just reinstalled xp professional 2002 version,  I can't configure the
fax service. I tried Adding windowns components by going to device manager-
fax services,
but it doesnt work.

Nero (6.6 and 7.2) insists on changing my desktop theme partially.
Window borders swith to a Win2k style (straight lines, you know!).
If I right click on desktop, personalize, theme, windows vista theme is
still there.

Here's my problem.
Two computers running Vista x64 rc1, networked (Workgroup name:WORKGROUP).
File sharing Ok, no password needed.
Printer is HP5650 connected to one of the two computers.

Im running xp64, and i cant figure out where the ntfs permisions can be
changed, either file or folder level. Im the only user, OS is on ntfs5
volume, so i dont see what the problem is. The place to click "make this
folder private" is greyed out. I find no place for file level ...

I am running different 32 bit versions of protected software on ix86 machines.
I want to migrate to my new 64 bit computer because I need more than 8GB of
RAM.
Software installation is OK, but the HASP dongle and the crypto-box (Marx)

Does SFU 3.5 work on the 64 bit version of Windows Server 2003RC2 ? Or is it
even necessary for interoperability with NIS/Unix systems. (It would not
install with Server 2003 64bit) Thanks
