Vista rc1 stole my "C:" drive letter, moving all my partitions one letter up. I had left "I:" partition for it (the last one), but it took hold of "C:". I installed now rc2 from within rc1, chose a fresh install and it did install on the last partition.

I'm about to install Vista 32-bit on my home computer. I have Win XP Pro installed, plus I have an extra hard drive connected. I'm just wondering if I can install Vista on my spare hard drive and choose OS when starting BIOS?

I downloaded and installed Java 1.6 beta and installed on Vista64 The installation completed. Java shows in installed programs. Java does not show in Control Panel. It is not recognised as installed by programs requiring it including Internet Explorer 7 (32-bit).

After unsuccessfully tried to upgrade Vista x64 5600 to 5728 and/or 5744 I wonder if I can leave rc1 as it is and install rc2 on a separate partition. Problem is that upgrade fails in the last part of the last stage, either installing from a DVD or HD (both 5728 and 5744).

I switched to XP 64 bit version recently and now I am looking for a good x64 registry cleaner. When using 32 bit XP, I was using Registry Mechanic. At first, I hope I can use Registry Mechanic on X64 but some tests shows Registry Mechanic is not x64 aware. It seems Registry
