I have Windows xp Professional Version 2002. I have major problems with MS Explorer and outlook as well. When trying to get online updates the system would not recognize my product key. I have the original package but still its not going through.

Sometimes when I restart it will literally take hours for it come back up. This seems to occur randomly but I have noticed that it definitely happens when I install new software. I can't even get it into safe mode when this happens.

Everytime i install a program, game or just someting, it doesn't put a shortvut on the desktop or in the start menu, even if it normally does. The software can still be found in "Program Files", and in the controlpanel (hope that's what's called in english)
